CHICAGO (AP) _ Ryerson Holding Corp. (RYI) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $26.4 million.
On a per-share basis, the Chicago-based company said it had profit of 69 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were 30 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 13 cents per share.
The metal products distributor and processor posted revenue of $961.5 million in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $987.4 million.
For the year, the company reported profit of $82.4 million, or $2.17 per share. Revenue was reported as $4.5 billion.
Ryerson shares have declined 30% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $8.25, a decrease of 1% in the last 12 months.
