Rylan Clark-Neal will join the presenting team on Strictly Come Dancing’s sister show, It Takes Two. A veteran of reality television, Clark-Neal auditioned for the X Factor in 2012, before going on to present Big Brother’s Bit on the Side, This Morning and The Xtra Factor.

The news was revealed this morning, when Clark-Neal called into Zoe Ball’s BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show as a surprise guest. He will share presenting duties with Ball when Strictly returns later this year.

Last year, Clark-Neal replaced Ball as the host of Radio 2’s Saturday afternoon show.

Speaking about his new position, Clark-Neal gushed: “I can’t begin to explain how excited I am to be joining the Strictly family. I’ve always been a massive fan of It Takes Two and to be working with the amazing Zoe Ball is a dream. I’m extremely honoured to be joining such a television institution and can’t wait to bring a lot of mischief to the Strictly bubble. I’m looking forward to getting started and seeing you all soon.

Zoe Ball was equally enthusiastic. “I adore Rylan, he’s an absolute wonder,” she said. “I love his daftness and naughtiness and he’s a brilliant live telly host. He’ll fit right into our It Takes Two family. Can’t wait for this new season to start, it’s going be a hoot!”

Clark-Neal’s appointment comes in the wake of Darcey Bussell’s resignation. It is not yet known who will replace Bussell on the Strictly judging panel.
