Saints Baby gets free football, cries like a baby

On this fight-heavy NFL Sunday, where scuffles have marred both the Bengals-Jaguars game and the Saints-Bucs tilt, we present to you Saints Baby: A Play In Three Acts.

Act I: Saints Baby Gets A Ball

Midway through the third quarter, the Saints’ Ted Ginn Jr. scored on a long strike from Drew Brees to put New Orleans up an eventual 27 points. Ginn sighted on a baby as he leaped into the Superdome crowd, handing the ball to the baby’s father. Saints baby looks unamused.

Act II: Saints Baby Gets Mad

Ball in hand, Saints Baby starts crying. Crying! Come on, Saints Baby!  You just got yourself a one-of-a-kind souvenir! You gotta be tougher than that to make it in this league!

Act III: Saints Baby Makes Peace With Football

With the excitement past, Saints Baby can now start to come to terms with this newcomer that Daddy seems to love almost as much as Baby. And perhaps this tale will have a happy ending for everyone involved after all. Well, everyone except the Buccaneers.

Saints Baby isn’t the hero we deserve, but Saints Baby is the hero we’ve got.
