Price Increases Boost Earnings

Sanderson Farms earned $2.95 a share in the third quarter on sales of $738.96 million. Analysts had only expected $2.62 and $722.45 million, respectively. SAFM is up almost 4 percent before the opening bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.

DSW Surpasses Consensus Estimates

Shoe retailer DSW reported second-quarter profit of $0.97, beating the $0.80 consensus estimate. Sales of $562 million also surpassed the $560 million forecast, and management inched full-year guidance higher. DSW rose 2 percent in the premarket.
