Santander Brasil's profit drop 41% as bank set aside $621 billion

SAO PAULO, July 29 (Reuters) - Banco Santander Brasil SA's quarterly earnings sank as the bank set aside 3.2 billion reais ($620.96 million) for potential coronavirus-related loan losses, catching up to similar provisioning by rivals in the first quarter.

Santander Brasil's second-quarter net income came in at 2.136 bln reais billion reais, down 41.2% from a year earlier and roughly in line analysts' estimate by Refinitiv of 2.213 billion reais. ($1 = 5.1533 reais) (Reporting by Carolina Mandl, editing by Louise Heavens)
