As Sarah Jessica Parker launches her own bottles of booze, we couldn’t help but wonder, was Carrie really ready to swap Cosmos for wine?

Well, apparently so. The actress-turned-perfumer-turned-shoe designer has added yet another string to her bow by taking over the world of wine.

The Sex and the City star has collaborated with prominent New Zealand winery, Invivo, to create her new wine called “Invivo X” - and it will be available exclusively at Sainsbury’s.

The 54-year-old “Divorce” actress announced on Instagram on Wednesday that her latest creation finally arrived.

Posting an image of her sat outside a classic New York City brownstone, Sarah Jessica can be seen holding up a bottle of wine, with the caption: “Meet @invivoxsjp! Just arrived from New Zealand. Cleared customs. Knockin’ on my door. It can be on your stoop, in your fridge, on your table, in your hands as of now! Tonight we celebrate it’s official launch, our now award winning Sauvignon Blanc.”

The actress also announced she would be signing bottles for fans on Thursday at the Park Avenue Liquor Shop.

Her new Sauvignon Blanc has been made from grapes from the famed Marlborough region and will be sold exclusively at Sainsbury’s in the UK, retailing as just £12 a bottle.

The wine itself is said to have notes of “grapefruit, honeysuckle and citrus zest” making it “beautifully balanced”.

The wine is said to have notes of “grapefruit, honeysuckle and citrus zest.”

“I have thoroughly enjoyed the collaboration with Rob and Tim from Invivo,” Sarah Jessica said in a statement.

“Every part of the process from our initial conversations discussing wine styles, to the creative process on the brand and label design and of course, the Sauvignon Blanc blending session; it’s all been one exciting step after another. And a thrilling education in the business of winemaking, but more importantly, the love and passion behind Invivo.”

The packaging even has a special meaning behind it. Sarah Jessica hand painted the X on the original label, and chose a teal paint which matched the shade of her favourite satin shoes from her very own SJP Collection label.

Invivo X will be available to buy from Sainsbury’s later this month.
