Saul Goodman pitches 'Better Call Saul' in new Emmy FYC video

As anyone who watched Better Call Saul this season knows, kindhearted lawyer Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) is slowly but surely transforming into the wily, ethically dubious lawyer to crime lords and drug dealers known as Saul Goodman. But first, Jimmy debuted Saul Goodman as a small-time commercial director trying to convince local businesses to hire him to shoot a television ad.

Now AMC and the Better Call Saul team — who are nominated for five Emmys, including Outstanding Drama Series — have refashioned Jimmy’s star-wipe-filled local TV ad into an equally star-wipe filled For Your Consideration ad aimed at Television Academy voters. Thanks to some deliberately terrible voice-over dubbing by Odenkirk, Saul declares, “The Academy needs to know about your performance!”

The 69th Annual Emmy Awards will air Sunday, Sept. 17, at 8 p.m. on CBS.
