LAS VEGAS (AP) _ Scientific Games Corp. (SGMS) on Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $14 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
The Las Vegas-based company said it had net income of 15 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 1 cent per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 2 cents per share.
The instant-win lottery ticket maker posted revenue of $855 million in the period, also falling short of Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $856.6 million.
Scientific Games shares have increased 51% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $26.98, a climb of 27% in the last 12 months.
