MONACO (AP) _ Scorpio Tankers Inc. (STNG) on Wednesday reported a loss of $71.7 million in its third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the company said it had a loss of 23 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 21 cents per share.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for a loss of 21 cents per share.

The shipping company posted revenue of $119.3 million in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $119.7 million.

The company's shares closed at $1.63. A year ago, they were trading at $3.62.
