SCOTUS takes Medtronic case

The high court agreed to hear a patent dispute concerning Medtronic's (MDT) CRT-type heart monitors. Medtronic and Boston Scientific (BSX) have a patent licensing pact. In '07, Boston Scientific said Medtronic was developing products that would justify royalty payments. Medtronic sued, seeking a ruling that it didn't have to pay royalties. Separately, the court will hear a case in which 2 Fidelity Investments employees seek a ruling that they have the same whistle-blower protections as workers at publicly traded companies.
