Scripps Networks pops on Q1

The operator of the Food Network, Home and Garden Television, Travel Channel and other cable channels said EPS rose 5% to 77 cents a share ex items, 3 cents above views. Revenue rose 11% to $594.4 mil, above estimates for $584.3 mil. Ad revenue grew 10% while affiliate fee revenue rose 8.5%. Scripps Networks Interactive (SNI) rose 2.9% to 68.73, hitting a record high.
