Sean Hayes mocks Madonna’s acting on 'Will and Grace'
On Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Sean Hayes stopped by to spill the beans about some famous divas who did cameos on Will and Grace, and Andy Cohen got Hayes to dish on the acting style of the one and only Madonna. “Did she speak in an English accent behind the scenes?” Cohen asked. “A tiny bit, but she closed her eyes every time she delivered a line, and opened them when it wasn’t her line,” said Hayes. Hayes went on to demo this little-known “close your eyes while you speak” technique for Cohen and the other guest, Sterling K. Brown.
With this acting technique down, it’s a wonder that Patti Lupone would ever have said about Madonna’s performance in Evita: “Madonna is a movie killer; she’s dead behind the eyes. She can’t act her way out of a paper bag — she shouldn’t be on film or on stage.”
