HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) -- A search for a southern Nevada teen was in its fourth day Monday, after police in Henderson reported him missing following the discovery of his mother and younger brother stabbed to death in their suburban apartment.
Adrian Navarro, 16, has been sought since his mother and brother were found dead Friday in a quiet residential complex in Henderson, police spokesman Keith Paul said.
Investigators didn't consider the teen a suspect in the slayings of Elvira Canales-Gomez and Cesar Navarro, Paul said. Police released no information about suspects or a motive in the slayings.
The Clark County coroner determined Canales-Gomez, 40, and Cesar Navarro, 9, each died of stab wounds to the chest.
Their bodies were discovered after Canales-Gomez failed to show up for work Wednesday as a chef at the Venetian resort, and the younger boy didn't appear at school.
Adrian Navarro lived with the two at the apartment off Eastern Avenue and Sunridge Heights Parkway.
The teen's father, also named Adrian Navarro, lives in California. He issued a weekend plea in Henderson for his son to contact family members.
