See Beyoncé In Her Stunning ‘Renaissance’ Era Photos
Beyoncé unleashed Renaissance on July 29, and with the new era came jaw-dropping images. Promotional photos for the “Break My Soul” singer’s seventh solo studio album pulls inspiration from Prince, her hometown of Houston, and supermodel imagery from the ’80s and ’90s.
Renaissance serves as the follow-up to Beyoncé’s last solo studio album: 2016’s Lemonade. The new album’s lead single, the Robin S.-evoking “Break My Soul,” has thus far been climbing the Billboard Hot 100 since debuting at No. 15. In the interim between her two proper solo albums, the Grammy-winner flexed her artistic muscle on projects such as Homecoming, Everything Is Love (as one half of The Carters), and The Lion King: The Gift. The latter was accompanied by Black Is King, a stunning visual album that landed on Disney+ a year after the release of the album, a companion to the 2019 photorealistic remake of The Lion King. Everything Is Love, on the other hand, spawned the Grammy-nominated and VMA-winning music video for “Apeshit,” which debuted at No. 13 on the Hot 100.

Black Is King joined the B’Day Anthology Video Album (2007), Beyoncé (2013), and Lemonade (2016), as the “Brown Skin Girl” singer’s fourth visual album. Until visuals for Renaissance arrive, Beyoncé is keeping the Beyhive fed with this luxurious album photoshoot. The Mason Poole-helmed shoot finds Beyoncé slinking down club staircases, lounging on velvet couches, and levitating in a church while dripped out in an Alaïa gown.
