Senate committee to probe commodities conflicts, WSJ reports

The U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations has sent information requests to Goldman Sachs (GS), JPMorgan (JPM), and Morgan Stanley (MS), as well as the Federal Reserve, in recent months as part of a preliminary examination into potential conflicts of interest related to the banks' role in physical commodity markets, reports The Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter.
