Sephora Just Updated Its Beauty Insider Loyalty Program With Even More Benefits

Here's the lowdown on how to subscribe to Allure's print edition for more beauty routines, recommendations, and features.

Sephora has gone through a lot of changes lately. After canceling in-person services and events in stores starting mid-March as a coronavirus precaution, the powerhouse beauty retailer voluntarily closed all of its stores before any mandates were in place. Select brick-and-mortar locations started opening up last week, with testers on display but untouchable and new hygiene and safety practices to keep shoppers and employees protected. But not every change at Sephora has been in response to the pandemic. The retailer has just announced changes to its Beauty Insider loyalty program, and it's great news for anyone who's ready to ramp up their beauty shopping again.

Beauty Insiders will enjoy new perks with more ways to save money, both in-store at reopened locations and online. With Beauty Insider Cash, members can use their points for savings at checkout: 500 points translates to an instant $10 off at checkout. In addition to two seasonal savings events, members can earn points faster and exchange those points for savings at Point Multiplier + Discount Events. And when you're shopping online, all members get free standard shipping, with no threshold for Rouge-level members, a $35 minimum purchase for VIB members, and a $50 minimum for Insiders.

Access to products has always been a major part of the Beauty Insider program, and the new changes mean more samples, including body and hair products. And, as always, Rouge members get extra perks, like first access to the most exciting product launches (starting this summer).

The Beauty Insider program has always emphasized special events for its members, and Sephora says that as soon as social distancing restrictions are lifted members will be able to use points for experiences like one-on-one meet-ups with a brand founder, a facial from a skin-care pro, or an opportunity to see how their favorite products are made.

"In accordance with the Sephora Health & Hygiene Guidelines, offerings such as meet-and-greets or in-real-life experiences, as well as in-store services, are currently on hold for the time being," a representative for the company tells Allure, noting that members can still engage with digitally accessible rewards. "In the interim, members can enjoy plenty of other benefits, like Beauty Insider Cash, free shipping, and more. We look forward to resuming these offerings as soon as it is safe to do so."
