Sergio Ramos literally 's--- himself' during Real Madrid's win over Eibar

Real Madrid was bizarrely reduced to 10 players during the second half of its game against Eibar on Saturday when Sergio Ramos mysteriously disappeared down the tunnel. At the time, nobody quite knew what was going on. Had Ramos sustained an injury? Was there some sort of emergency?

Well, yes, actually. Kind of.

Manager Zinedine Zidane outed his center back after the match with an explanation as unusual as it was hilarious.

Ramos s— himself a bit,” Zidane said.

“So he went to the bathroom for a moment,” Zidane continued, as if it were no big deal. And it turned out not to be, because Cristiano Ronaldo broke a 1-1 tie in the 84th minute.

It would have been quite the story, though, if Real Madrid hadn’t won the game, and especially if Madrid had conceded a goal while Ramos was relieving himself. Zidane had used his final two substitutions with 20 minutes remaining, so he had no choice but to leave his team to play 10-v-11.

Fortunately, the three points allowed Sergio Ramos to make light of the situation after the match. He did so with a cheeky Instagram post that all but confirmed Zidane’s account of the brief absence.

“Nature calls. Out and back in. Reload. Team goal. Back home. Let’s keep it up.”

A pretty succinct summary of an eventful day.
