Shaquille O' Neal's Florida mansion is on the market for $28 million and it is the most Shaq thing ever

The multi-millionaire Shaquille O’Neal fans browsing Redfin are in luck. The Hall of Famer’s gargantuan house in Windermere, Florida, is on the market and the inside of it is every bit as ridiculous as you’d think.

Go ahead, try finding another home with 12 bedrooms, a 17-car garage, custom basketball gym, outdoor swimming complex, movie theater, walk-in cigar humidor and Superman logos galore. All that and more is available for the price of $28 million.

The house is located in Windermere, a suburb of Orlando whose residents also include Bubba Watson, Vince Carter and Ken Griffey Jr. Listed by Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, monthly payments for the house total $152,815 with a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage, according to Redfin’s own calculations.

Let’s take a closer look at just what kind of house we’re dealing with.

Where to even start. This 31,000-square foot behemoth of a house is located next to a lake, which is visible from nearly every room in the house. Per The Wall Street Journal, Shaq bought the house in 1993 while he played for the Orlando Magic for the relatively low price of $3.95 million. He has since spent his time Shaqifying the place.

The listing’s description of the house goes through plenty of highlights, but there’s some stuff you just need to see.

Beautiful double, curved stair cases greet you in the two-story foyer and guides you to the estate’s magnificent great room. The great room boasts approximately 1,170 square feet, built-in sofas, 2 story marble fireplace, wood beams with large corbels then complimented by a wall of glass showcasing the serene views of Lake Butler. Experience deep rich color tones, large open doorways, and beautiful hand-crafted wood paneling and moldings throughout majority of the home. The astonishing estate was designed with lake views in mind for almost every room. Other highlights include gated entry, full house Crestron technology, 17 plus car garages with showroom details, 3 fireplaces, walk-in humidor and wine storage, two story ceilings, 15 feet in depth pool with rock wall water feature, summer kitchen, custom chef’s kitchen, covered cabana and 10-foot privacy wall.

For starters, if you’ve ever wondered how the 7-foot-2 humans of the world find beds, the answer is apparently 15-feet wide circular beds across from a fireplace.

That circular bed frame is 15 feet wide and built-in to the room, so have fun buying sheets for it. (Photo from Redfin)

The mansion’s basketball court is a site as well, with Shaq’s own named emblazened on the baseline. Despite being mere miles from the Magic’s home court, O’Neal instead with the Miami Heat logo at halfcourt. The whole complex no doubt helped the training of 5-star basketball recruit Shareef O’Neal.

As for the backyard, hope you like swimming.

That’s fun, but what if I want to see a Superman-themed aquarium surrounded by a mural of Shaq driving a diesel 18-wheeler?

Glad you asked! The Wall Street Journal’s reporting on the listing included a picture of that… specific request. We can only imagine this work of art is responsible for at least $1 million of the asking price.
