Now, footwear fashionistas can unite and conquer at the first Fashion Week created and devoted to celebrate this much-loved and coveted accessory. Shoe Week™ launches September 6th - 13th during Spring/Summer 2013 New York Fashion Week.
"Shoe Week™ was created to fully feature and celebrate the luxury shoe market during fashion week," emphasized Co-Founder/Creative Director and Accessories Expert/Stylist, Kimmie Smith. "Accessories are the key aspect to creating signature style. Our goal is to bring accessory lovers together with carefully curated, established and emerging shoe designers and collections."
A full day of invite-only events is set for the premier Glass Houses on September 9th . Included is a spectacular runway show in a shoe focused format, with personalities, such as the sassy Diana Falzone; luxury Handbag and Shoe Lounge, Style Media House; and a footwear lifestyle panel discussion with key industry and influencers, scheduled to include Jason Campbell, founder of the JC Report; Montgomery Frazier "The Image Guru," and acclaimed fashion photographer, Andrew Werner.
Shoe Week™ is also presenting a live presentation of preeminent photographer Michel Tcherevkoff's Shoe Fleur: A Footwear Fantasy. Selected by Canon USA as an "Explorer of Light" and "Print Master," Tcherevkoff's use of signature graphic design and bold color has significantly shaped the commercial aesthetic of advertising imaging for the past 35 years. Designs from Tcherevkoff's book, Shoe Fleur: A Footwear Fantasy, have been re-interpreted as a real shoe collection in collaboration with ecologically sensitive manufacturer Po- Zu, available in stores Spring 2013.
Another key signature event is the inaugural Sneaker Concert, a groundbreaking luxury sneaker and sneakerhead exhibition co-curated by visionary Kevin Leong. Leong is CEO and Head Designer of his own label, Origami, and Senior Vice President/Creative Director of Russell Simmons' Simmons Designs Group.
An interesting mix of footwear and accessories brands will be included over the week, such as Aiisha Couture, Althea Harper, Estuaries NY, Giemme, Linea Pelle, Mauri, Norma Kamali, O'Neill, Princess by London Shoes, Q by Pasquale, Ted Rossi NYC, Theia Couture, and more. Prominent lifestyle accessory brand Couture by Sophie will be featured, showcasing complimentary dog fashion components.
