Shuffle Master falls on weak results

Earnings, Revenue Lag Estimates

Shuffle Master earned just $0.18 a share on revenue of $63 million. Analysts had expected $0.20 and $67.93 million, respectively. SHFL drops 7 before the bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.

Weak Guidance Weighs on Five Below

Five Below reported better-than-expected second-quarter results, but guidance going forward was weak.  A loss of $0.01 is expected in the current quarter, while analysts projected breakeven profit. The full-year outlook for fiscal 2013 was also below consensus. FIVE declines 4 percent in early trading.

Palo Alto Numbers Not Good Enough

Palo Alto Networks reported revenue of $75.6 million, beating the $71.33 million average analyst estimate. Profit of $0.03, however, only met expectations, and management expressed frustration with the company's growth. Earnings guidance also failed to surpass expectations. That's not great news for a company that had almost doubled since its IPO in July. PANW drops 7 percent in the pre.
