On a per-share basis, the Denver-based company said it had profit of 15 cents.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 14 cents per share.
The nutritional foods company posted revenue of $123.8 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $123.2 million.
Simply Good Foods shares have risen 16 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 66 percent in the last 12 months.
