SkyWest: 2Q Earnings Snapshot

ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) _ SkyWest Inc. (SKYW) on Thursday reported second-quarter profit of $75.9 million.

The St. George, Utah-based company said it had net income of $1.43 per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.23 per share.

The regional airline posted revenue of $805.5 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $804.8 million.

SkyWest shares have risen slightly more than 8 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $57.55, a climb of 53 percent in the last 12 months.
