Speculative U.S. 10-year T-note net shorts rise - CFTC

Sept 6 (Reuters) - Speculators' net bearish bets on U.S. 10-year Treasury note futures rose earlier this week as 10-year yields fell to three-year lows due to news the domestic factory sector contracted for the first time since 2016, according to Commodity Futures Trading Commission data released on Friday. The amount of speculators' bearish, or short, positions in 10-year Treasury futures exceeded bullish, or long, positions by 377,867 contracts on Sept. 3, according to the CFTC's latest Commitments of Traders data. A week earlier, speculators held 309,904 net short positions in 10-year T-note futures.
