ST LOUIS (AP) _ Spire Inc. (SR) on Thursday reported a loss of $25.9 million in its fiscal fourth quarter.
The St. Louis-based company said it had a loss of 51 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 52 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 59 cents per share.
The natural gas distributor posted revenue of $239.2 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported profit of $214.2 million, or $4.33 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.97 billion.
Spire expects full-year earnings in the range of $3.70 to $3.80 per share.
Spire shares have risen 1 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined slightly more than 3 percent in the last 12 months.
