WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ Spirit Aerosystems Holdings Inc. (SPR) on Wednesday reported first-quarter net income of $163.1 million.
The Wichita, Kansas-based company said it had profit of $1.55 per share. Earnings, adjusted for costs related to mergers and acquisitions, were $1.68 per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.67 per share.
The aircraft parts maker posted revenue of $1.97 billion in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.94 billion.
Spirit Aerosystems shares have risen 21% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 8% in the last 12 months.
