Sprint spikes on Softbank deal report

Deal Reportedly in Advanced Stages
Sprint Nextel is reportedly in advanced talks to be acquired by Japan's Softbank, according to the Wall Street Journal. That's propelling S higher by 18 percent in early trading. Leap Wireless International, which has also climbed on takeover speculation, advanced 3 percent as well.

Winnebago Earnings, Revenue Weaker than Expected

Winnebago Industries reported fourth-quarter earnings of $0.14 a share on revenue of $162.5 million. While that represented strong growth from last year, analysts had expected $0.17 of profit of $163 million of revenue. WGO falls 3 percent on my tradeMONSTER platform.

FedEx Gets More Positive Responses from Analysts

FedEx received more positive analyst chatter following plans to cut $1.7 billion in costs. Bank of America Merrill Lynch raised its price target to $113 from $108, while Standpoint Research upgraded the stock to "buy" from "hold." FDX climbs more than 1 percent in early trading.
