There is a Starbucks Frappuccino for anything these days. With different drink flavor customizations, you can make everything from a Baby Yoda to a Joker-inspired Frappuccino, but the newest addition to the list isn't on the secret menu. The Santa Boots Chocolate Frappuccino is on the actual menu at participating Starbucks locations.
The fun part of this Santa Boots drink isn't just that it's another cute Christmas beverage. It features an unexpected topping: potato chips. The addition of potato chips is meant to undercut the very rich, chocolatey base of the drink. To some, this may be a little too crazy, but if you're like me, you appreciate the duality of a treat that is both sweet and salty.
The base of the drink is chocolate, with chocolate chips and added chocolate sauce. Then come the crushed potato chips, whipped cream topping, and red coated chocolate candies. So pretty much chocolate, chocolate, more chocolate, potato chips, and an edible cookie straw to top off the drink...uh, YUM?!
Unfortunately, the Santa Boots Frappuccino is only available at Japan Starbucks locations. It's a limited time offer available from December 4 to December 25, or until its sold out.
I'm sure someone will figure out a way to make a similar drink at US locations, so check your local Starbucks hacks Insta for that. Until then, you can still revel in the happiness of Starbucks holiday cup szn and keep your eyes peeled for the next Starbucks happy hour—Santa Boots not included.
