State Street Rolls Out TIPS, Global Dividend ETFs

State Street Global Advisors has launched a pair of ETFs, a fund designed to offer a potential hedge against medium-term inflation and a portfolio of global dividend stocks.

The Boston-based firm this week listed SPDR S&P Global Dividend ETF (WDIV) and SPDR Barclays 1-10 Year TIPS ETF (TIPX).

TIPX has an expense ratio of 0.15% while WDIV charges 0.40%.

It looks like WDIV will square off against other global dividend ETFs such as Global X SuperDividend ETF (SDIV), Guggenheim S&P Global Dividend Opportunities Index ETF (LVL), First Trust Dow Jones Global Select Dividend Index (FGD) and WisdomTree Global Equity Income (DEW). The new State Street ETF joins SPDR S&P International Dividend ETF (DWX) in the SPDR lineup of dividend funds.

Meanwhile, TIPX will compete against a crowded field of TIPS ETFs designed to invest in Treasury Inflation Protected Securities. [State Street Plans Two New TIPS ETFs]
