You Need To Steal This Plant-A-Succulent Station Idea From Christina Anstead's Baby Shower

During season 2, episode 4 of Christina on the Coast, Christina Anstead worked her design magic to create an entirely new kitchen for one family. She also celebrated a very special occasion—her baby shower! And let's just say that there were no tacky dirty diaper or bobbing for nipples games at this expecting mama's bash.

Anstead's friend Cassie Zebisch (here's, um, everything we know about her) threw Christina an elegant boho-styled shower at Balboa Bay Resort. From the floral arrangements on the tables to the dreamcatcher decorations hanging in the shrubs (a pretty amazing backdrop for photos!), the decor was totally to the nines. At this point, we know that Anstead ultimately has a boy—Hudson London Anstead was born in September 2019—but these episodes were taped very far in advance. But you wouldn't know from the party decor: El Moussa swapped the traditional "It's A Boy" signage with "Baby Anstead" lettering, and there were some tasty looking blue doughnuts up for grabs. But that was about it.

Besides El Moussa's son Brayden and husband Ant Anstead, who is shown with a cast on his arm, the shower appears to be all-female gathering. At some point, Cassie starts a game of "Ant or Christina" where guests have to answer who they think is more likely to do the thing she says. Based on the answers, the group concludes that Ant is more likely to want another baby, but Christina will definitely be the parent to change more diapers. (Men.)

Probably our favorite part about the shower, though, was the Plant-a-Succulent station. While this was not discussed during the episode, Christina showed some shots of it on her Instagram post below. Guests at Baby Anstead's shower were invited to pot their own succulent plant-baby to bring home! At the station, a large wooden board listed all the easy-to-follow directions. Guests were instructed to place soil in a planting pot, then remove their succulent of choice from the plastic container to place inside the pot. To secure the succulent, guests were directed to drop some more soil in, and then layer some pebbles to mask the dirt. Finally, they could sprinkle on some moss in for fun.

Props for Zebisch for arranging this whole shower and this amazing planting station. Also, shout out to succulents for never dying on us—I'm sure the last thing a mom-to-be wants is a plant that needs constant care, right?
