Steve Carell will reunite with The Office (Us) showrunner Greg Daniels for a Trump-inspired comedy called Space Force. Netflix yesterday announced that Carell was confirmed in the story about downtrodden government workers tasked with making a reality out of Trump's dream of a 'Space Force'.

The madcap scheme was announced in June 2018 when Trump revealed the government would be setting up a "sixth branch of the military" in order to prevent China and Russia leading in space exploration.

"It is not enough to merely have an American presence in space. We must have American dominance in space," said Trump, presumably having once mistaken Star Wars as a documentary.

The announcement video for the series says: “The goal of the new branch is ‘to defend satellites from attack’ and ‘perform other space-related tasks,'” it reads. “Or something.”

“This is the story of the men and women who have to figure it out.”

Carell has recently stared in a string of dramas including addiction memoir Beautiful Boy and as Donald Rumsfeld in Dick Cheney biopic, Vice.
