Stock, Bond ETF Investors Should Go Global

With the proliferation of exchange traded fund options available, financial advisors and investors can easily access global markets to diversify their portfolios.

ETF Trends’ Tom Lydon recently sat down with Michael Jones, Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of Riverfront Investment Group, to point to market opportunities, specifically areas abroad, considering U.S. equity markets are back to fair market value after last year’s bull rally.

“Where we see about 20 to 25 percent undervaluation is in developed international – Europe and Japan,” Jones said.

On the fixed-income side, Jones argues for shorter duration U.S. bonds, but he also favors emerging market debt.

“We [are] starting to get increasingly interested in emerging market fixed-income,” Jones added. “Their central banks have been raising interest rates, have been trying to slow inflationary pressures.”
