Winners and losers

Stocks fighting the tough tape today include Invitation Homes as it will merge with Starwood Waypoint Homes in a stock-for-stock merger; Live Nation on an earnings and revenue beat as concert ticket sales jumped 22% from a year ago; and Perrigo, with shares soaring after a profit and revenue beat, as the drugmaker’s full-year earnings forecast topped expectations.

Stocks deep in the red today include Kohl’s despite an earnings beat as same store sales dropped four-tenths of a percent; Chicago Bridge & Iron as the energy infrastructure company reported a huge surprise loss and suspended its dividend,\; and Blue Apron, with shares of the meal kit maker tumbling after its first earnings report as a public company, as it reported a much wider profit loss than expected.
