Stocks waver as Fed divided over balance sheet

Stocks (^DJI, ^GSPC, ^IXIC) waver as Fed minutes show members divided over unwinding a massive balance sheet and further rate hikes. Winners and losers

Stocks in the green today include Monogram as the REIT agreed to be acquired by Greystar Growth and Income Fund for $2 billion; Athenex as the drugmaker announced it has submitted a cancer treatment to China’s FDA; and Baidu, with shares jumping as the Chinese search engine announced a slew of AI and autonomous driving partnerships from the likes of Nvidia and Conexant.

Stocks in the red today include O’Reilly Auto parts as the retailer reported same-store sales well below estimates and prior guidance; Buffalo Wild Wings as Stephens downgraded the stock to ‘equal-weight’ citing a proxy fight and recent loss of its CEO; and Tesla, with shares getting zapped after the carmaker reported deliveries for Q2 missed estimate by 2000 vehicles.
