Winners and losers

Stocks on the move lower today include ARMOUR Residential after the REIT announced a secondary offering of 4.5 million shares; IMPINJ as the RFID solutions firm was downgraded by Pacific Crest to sector weight from overweight; and Alder BioPharmaceuticals, with shares of the drugmaker tumbling after its experimental migraine treatment fell short of investor expectations.

Stocks in the green today include Darden Restaurants as the Olive Garden parent saw same-store sales increase and hiked its dividend; JCPenney as Gordan Haskett Research upgraded shares claiming same-store sales are bottoming out; and Sprint, with shares of the mobile carrier jumping on a Wall Street Journal report that Sprint is working with Charter and Comcast to offer wireless service to Charter and Comcast customers.
