Jon "DRJ" Najarian (ask-drj@optionmonster.com)

Earnings, Sales Better Than Expected

Helen of Troy earned $0.82 a share in its first quarter, beating the $0.71 average analyst forecast. Revenue of $304.5 million also beat the $301.5 million consensus estimate. Those strong results are sending HELE up 3.5 percent before the opening bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.

Nu Skin Crushes Guidance

Nu Skin Enterprises pre-announced second-quarter revenue of $680 million and profit of $1.20. That's much better than the $570 million to $580 million it had previously forecast on the top line and the $0.91-to-$0.95 range provided for the bottom line. NUS rallies 13 percent on the news.

Family Dollar Surpasses Street Number

Family Dollar reported third-quarter net income of $1.05 a share. That beat the $1.03 estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters. Revenue was inline, but traders are focusing on that strong profit, sending FDO up by 4 percent in early trading.
