DENVER (AP) _ Summit Materials Inc. (SUM) on Tuesday reported second-quarter earnings of $57.1 million.
The Denver-based company said it had net income of 50 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 25 cents per share.
The construction materials producer posted revenue of $631 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $575.2 million, also beating Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $549.9 million.
Summit Materials shares have decreased 24% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $18.22, an increase of 1% in the last 12 months.
