As an Extremely Pale Person (seriously, I've never been to a doctor who didn't ask to check my vitamin D levels) sunscreen has been part of my daily beauty routine for as long as I can remember. I know I'm an outlier in this, and honestly, I get it. If I didn't get a savage sunburn within 10 minutes of being outdoors bare-faced, I'd be tempted to skip the step too. Because, aside from its skin-saving, cancer-preventing abilities, there's not a lot to love about most sunscreens.

They tend to be gloopy, or greasy, or impossible to rub in without looking like you're wearing a fine layer of chalk on your face. (Well, that's my default look, but it's a problem for anyone who's not already the color of chalk.) Some exacerbate acne, or have an overwhelming scent, or refuse to play well with makeup. So, of course, SPF tends to be the step that gets left out when you're pressed for time, or you don't think you'll be outside much, or, frankly, when you just don't feel like it.

I get it. I do. But since you know that sunscreen is not only an essential in fending off against cancer-causing UV rays, but is also every dermatologist in the book's number one tip for fighting back against signs of aging, you also know that you need to be wearing sunscreen everyday. It's just a matter for finding the right one—and if you're anything like the literally dozens of friends and family members I have prosthelytized to, you may well find that Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen is that one.

Think of everything you hate about sunscreen (or just scroll up a couple of paragraphs for a reminder). This SPF throws that all out the window. Heavy and greasy? Nope, it goes on feather-light, with a satin-matte finish that will rival your favorite primer any day of the week (speaking of primers, it functions just like one, meaning your worries about layering if your makeup are also taken care of.) Chalky? Nah, it's crystal-clear right out of the tube. There's no scent, so you won't feel like you've misplaced a beach day every time you put it on, and the oil-free formula helps to avoid clogging your pores.

And while its broad-spectrum SPF 40 offers me plenty of protection on even my outdoorsiest of days, perhaps the biggest accolade I can offer is that my father, who notoriously loathes skincare products and refuses to use them, not only applies this every morning, he buys it in multiples to keep his travel bag and his truck stocked, so he never runs out. With the weather warming up and our minds turning to thoughts of picnics, hikes, and sunny getaways, isn't it time you finally invested in a sunscreen you love that much?
