If you saw Kendall or Kylie Jenner out this summer, there’s a pretty big chance they were wearing brother-in-law Kanye West’s Yeezy knit boots.

Seriously, these boots have been everywhere. Take Kendall: She was seen stomping around in the boots at the Adele concert in Los Angeles in August, alongside fellow model Hailey Baldwin who was also sporting the knitted kicks.

Kendall reportedly loved the boots so much that she actually texted sister Kim Kardashian West asking why they weren’t yet in her closet.

As Kim told People magazine,

“Kendall sent me this crazy text message like, ‘Why the f— don’t I have these shoes? I’m seeing all these girls wearing them!’ The shorter version of these heeled boots. I was like, ‘Oh my god, they’re on their way.’ So it’s a good problem to have when your sisters cuss you out over not having the latest Yeezy clothes.”

And then there’s Kylie, who loves to show off her Yeezys on Instagram with different mini-skirts.

The Yeezy Season 2 boots are clearly a hot commodity, but they don’t come cheap — they retail for $895, if you can even get them. (Right now only a tall version is available and it’s $1,250.)

That’s where DIY maven Shay Cherise comes in. Known on Instagram as The Nu Vogue, the fairy godmother of every broke-as-a-joke Yeezy lover created a five-minute, $5 DIY that almost perfectly replicates the knit Yeezy boots.

Using that pair of pointy-toe pumps that so many women have lying around, Cherise simply covered them with a sock, snipped a hole for the heel, added a little sandpaper for traction on the sole of the shoe and voila. Yeezy magic.

Watch for yourself!

When made with socks that fit the earthy, neutral color palette that Kanye loves — olive, taupe, beige, and gray — these sock boots are a freakishly accurate facsimile of the original Yeezys.

Of course, women on the internet have taken notice and are sharing their DIY knit boots across social media.

Slay, ladies.

If this DIY project inspired you, you’ll love Cherise’s many other fierce ideas — like this Kim K-inspired T-shirt crop top. All you need is a white T and a pair of scissors.

Has anyone wished you a happy crafternoon today?!
