Superfish Raises $10m Series D Round Led by Vintage Investment Partners Alongside Draper Fisher Jurvetson

Superfish to Launch a New Visual Search Experience Built on Patented Technology

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - Jul 30, 2013) - Superfish, a visual search solutions company built to reinvent image search, today announced that it has raised $10M in Series D funding, led by Vintage Investment Partners with participation of current investors DFJ (Draper Fisher Jurvetson), and DFJ Tamir Fishman Ventures, bringing the company's total capital raise to $20M.

Superfish has developed the most advanced and scalable visual search technology in the world. The Superfish visual search engine can analyze an image 100% algorithmically, finding similar images in real-time without the need for text tags or human intervention.

Superfish has focused on developing its core visual search technology and applying this technology to enhance the online shopping experience. With this round it will launch a new solution called Venn, that will focus on photo discovery and sharing, blending visual search with the social graph to uncover visual patterns and common interests within the social graph.

"We are focused on empowering users to experience new ways to engage with the increasingly visual web by developing the most advanced visual search technology in the world, and applying it to solve problems and allow new engagement and search possibilities for consumers and businesses," said Adi Pinhas, co-founder and CEO, Superfish. "As the social web has exploded and photos play such a large role in people's lives online, we see a huge opportunity in solving new visual search problems, and we're excited to continue to innovate, and to reinvent the way people engage with images and with their friends."

"Superfish has a proven track record of developing compelling, revenue generating solutions leveraging its cutting-edge technology and securing patents," said Abe Finkelstein, General Partner at Vintage Investment Partners. "We are excited to support Adi Pinhas, Michael Chertok, and the rest of the team as they continue to innovate and build solutions that empower users and businesses to engage through images."
