SynaVoice SOL camp session features Curt Doty

SynaVoice SOL is a virtual camp for high school students. Our mission is to provide exposure to new ideas, concepts, and skills that will inform college, career, and life choices for the students. Founded as a result of the COVID 19 quarantine, SynaVoice SOL aims to create an environment where campers of all backgrounds can meet to learn, create, and engage in interesting and thought-provoking conversations. The Influence of Design: History & Design of Logos led by Curt Doty is the final session for the 2020 summer season.

SynaVoice SOL founder, Julie Rothhouse, states, "We are so excited to have Curt Doty lead our camp session. He is a visionary and outspoken creative. Curt has his finger on the pulse of what is happening at the intersection of technology, content and design. He has a deep understanding of the history of design combined with a keen ability to design cutting-edge content. SynaVoice SOL campers will definitely benefit from his insights and perspective."

The Influence of Design will explore the history of communication and branding starting with symbols, ancient cuneiform, and hieroglyphics, fast forwarding to the Gutenberg press, followed by an exploration of posters, Cubism, photography, and ending with the digital revolution and democratization of graphic design.

Curt Doty is a former studio executive and award-winning marketing luminary with an extensive legacy in television having created branding and image campaigns for clients such as Warner Bros TV, TV Guide, Discovery, ABC, and FX, to name a few. He has taught at his alma mater, Art Center College of Design and the School of Visual Arts in NYC. He has lectured all over the world at SCAD, FullSail, Promax and Mobile World Congress. In addition to his branding consultancy, CurtDoty.co, Curt is the co-founder of Vertuoso, one of the first agencies to focus on vertical content for mobile.
