TABLE-U.S. generation of renewable fuel credits fell in September -EPA

NEW YORK, Oct 21 (Reuters) - The United States generated fewer renewable fuel blending credits in September versus the month prior, data from the Environmental Protection Agency showed on Thursday. About 1.16 billion ethanol (D6) blending credits were generated in September, versus 1.21 billion in August, according to the data. About 385 million biodiesel (D4) blending credits were generated last month, down from 421 million the month prior. The credits are used by oil refiners and importers to show compliance with EPA-mandated ethanol blending quotas for petroleum-based fuels. They are generated with every gallon of biofuel produced. The following is a table of the credit generation for the month of September by credit type. Fuel (D RINs Volume (Gal.) Code) D3 49,247,062 49,247,062 D4 384,805,291 244,308,944 D5 23,208,853 19,208,835 D6 1,159,864,517 1,154,841,678 (Reporting by Stephanie Kelly)
