Takeaway.com CEO says Grubhub will participate in U.S. delivery consolidation
AMSTERDAM, Oct 21 (Reuters) - The CEO of Just Eat Takeaway.com, the owner of U.S. food ordering and delivery service Grubhub, said on Thursday he expects consolidation in the U.S. "on demand" delivery market and Grubhub would participate "when it comes".
"Over time there will inevitably be consolidation in the wider U.S. on demand delivery market as various players combine to optimise the last mile," Jitse Groen told investors in a presentation.
Company management "expects Grubhub to be involved in this consolidation when it comes and intends to do so from a position of strength." (Reporting by Toby Sterling; editing by Jason Neely)
