SAN DIEGO (AP) _ Tandem Diabetes Care Inc. (TNDM) on Wednesday reported a loss of $14.8 million in its fourth quarter.
The San Diego-based company said it had a loss of 48 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 63 cents per share.
The insulin pump maker posted revenue of $28.9 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $23.7 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $83.4 million, or $2.73 per share. Revenue was reported as $84.2 million.
In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, the company's shares hit $2.15. A year ago, they were trading at $9.98.
