Oily-skinned friends unite! If you have oily skin, summertime is probably your worst enemy since not only do you have to combat the oils in your pores but you’re also fighting against the summer heat and humidity. Don’t worry though, Tatcha has come to the rescue! Today, the brand dropped its new Satin Skin Mist created especially for those who have combination or oily skin. Leading up to the launch, the company ran a limited promotion on Sephora.com and Tatcha.com last week in which if you spent $35 or more on either site you were gifted a mystery item. And this was it!
The Satin Skin Mist is only Tatcha’s second-ever mist — The brand’s first and best selling Luminous Dewy Skin Mist, beloved by Kim Kardashian and her makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic, is better for those who prefer glowy, dewy skin. While that product is meant to be used under or over makeup, this one is not a setting spray; instead, it’s a hydrating and balancing alternative that doesn’t disrupt one’s makeup or clog your pores. Moreover, it doesn’t leave a matte finish, instead it feels more refreshing.
Accordingly, Tatcha has dubbed the product the “pore-perfecting companion” to their Water Cream, a hydrating moisturizer that helps to control excess oil. If you’ve ever used the Water Cream product then you’re probably familiar with the radiant effect it gives your face while not making you look too glowy.
The Satin Skin Mist is made with a special clay called Japanese Okinawa “Kucha,” which is only produced in Japan’s Okinawa Islands. Containing minerals and calcium, it helps to reduce clogged pores and oil build-up. In addition to this ingredient, the brand also harvested Japanese seagrass in the Wakayama and Shizuoka prefectures — the only areas that provide pure water and moist sand the seagrass needs to grow — an ingredient that helps to balance the ideal hydration levels. We love a product with amazing ingredients to back it up!
Since the mist contains actual clay, it must be shaken up in order to activate it. Don’t be scared of the clay, while it’s known to be drying the mist gives your skin a radiant finish far from dry. To top it all off, the product is bottled in a sleek aqua bottle with a golden nozzle.
Could this be the summer we finally say goodbye to clogged pores and oily skin? I sure hope so! Tatcha’s Satin Skin Mist is available now on Sephora.com and Tatcha.com for $48. It’s a pretty penny but definitely worth it. Take our word for it.
