The San Diego-based company said it had a loss of 81 cents per share.
The ophthalmic device company posted revenue of $7.1 million in the period, missing Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $7.6 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $19.9 million, or $4.29 per share. Revenue was reported as $28 million.
In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, the company's shares hit $4.71. A year ago, they were trading at $8.58.
