HAMILTON, Bermuda (AP) _ Teekay Tankers Ltd. (TNK) on Thursday reported a first-quarter loss of $19.2 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Hamilton, Bermuda-based company said it had a loss of 7 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 8 cents per share.
The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for a loss of 8 cents per share.
The oil and gas shipping company posted revenue of $168.5 million in the period, topping Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $85.6 million.
The company's shares closed at $1.17. A year ago, they were trading at $1.95.
