PURCHASE, N.Y. (AP) _ Teladoc Inc. (TDOC) on Wednesday reported a loss of $19 million in its fourth quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Purchase, New York-based company said it had a loss of 26 cents.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 33 cents per share.
The telehealth services provider posted revenue of $156.5 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Nine analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $153.8 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $98.9 million, or $1.38 per share. Revenue was reported as $553.3 million.
For the current quarter ending in April, Teladoc said it expects revenue in the range of $169 million to $172 million.
The company expects a full-year loss of $1.19 to $1.06 per share, with revenue ranging from $695 million to $710 million.
Teladoc shares have risen 40% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $116.86, a rise of 73% in the last 12 months.
