PURCHASE, N.Y. (AP) _ Teladoc Inc. (TDOC) on Wednesday reported a loss of $14.3 million in its fourth quarter.
The Purchase, New York-based company said it had a loss of 31 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 35 cents per share.
The telehealth services provider posted revenue of $37.4 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $36.9 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $74.2 million, or $1.75 per share. Revenue was reported as $123.2 million.
For the current quarter ending in April, Teladoc said it expects revenue in the range of $41.5 million to $42.5 million.
The company expects a full-year loss of 91 cents to 85 cents per share, with revenue ranging from $180 million to $185 million.
Teladoc shares have climbed 36 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $22.45, a climb of 63 percent in the last 12 months.
