The Tennessee quarterback job is solely Jarrett Guarantano’s.

The Volunteers announced Saturday that Quinten Dormady, the team’s starter at the beginning of the season, would have surgery on his shoulder and miss the rest of the 2017 season.

Guarantano took over as the starter before Tennessee’s game against South Carolina in a bid to get the offense jumpstarted. It hasn’t really worked, as Tennessee hasn’t scored an offensive touchdown in either of Guarantano’s two starts.

Tennessee’s last offensive touchdown came more than a month ago in a 17-13 win over UMass. Since then, the Vols have been shutout by Georgia, kicked three field goals vs. South Carolina and only scored a defensive touchdown against Alabama a week ago.

Tennessee plays Kentucky on Saturday.

Dormady will finish the season 76-137 for 925 yards and six touchdowns and six interceptions.

Guarantano, who will start Saturday, is 32-58 passing for 231 yards and a touchdown and an interception. The Vols will play against Kentucky without running back John Kelly following a marijuana possession citation earlier in the week.
