NORTH READING, Mass. (AP) _ Teradyne Inc. (TER) on Tuesday reported second-quarter earnings of $188.9 million.
The North Reading, Massachusetts-based company said it had profit of $1.05 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.33 per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.04 per share.
The maker of wireless products, data storage and equipment to test semiconductors posted revenue of $838.7 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $758.4 million.
For the current quarter ending in October, Teradyne expects its per-share earnings to range from $1.01 to $1.17.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $745 million to $805 million for the fiscal third quarter. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $606.9 million.
Teradyne shares have increased 32% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $89.72, a rise of 92% in the last 12 months.
